Chameleon Fan Dipole Antenna Review by Radio Prepper

Topsolar SolarFairy 60W Portable Foldable Solar Panel Charger Kit by KK6USY Ham Radio Adventures

The Chameleon Fan Dipole gives you two bands, 20m for day operations and 40m for evening contacts using NVIS to cover a regional area. The best of both worlds basically with these very popular bands. The antenna is well made and I have no suggestions for improvement. Not the fastest to setup but a good camp antenna that won't let you down. I am keeping it!

Linux in the Ham Shack Episode 427: The Death of CW by Linux in the Ham Shack Podcast

In August, I set out with 3 friends from the SAR team to spend 4 days in the hills, building and refreshing our mountain skills and visiting some amazing summits.  Afternoon thundershowers limited us to only two summits, but they were fantastic.

First on the list was Thunderbolt Peak at 14,003'.  It has an incredible summit with a technical summit block.  The next day, we summited Picture Puzzle Peak, a first for me, and a SOTA summit which had never seen an activation..

I have further developed an adjustiwave Standard to incorporate a 49:1 transformer as well as a switch which lets you change between using it as an End Fed Half Wave or Quarterwave Antenna.

I should have also checked 15m &10m as these should also be possible in this configuration giving you a 4 band antenna using 1 wire. I look forward to further testing.

Portable solar panel review | Off Grid Trek OGT120 by OH8STN

A REVIEW OF THE XIEGU X5105 QRP “SHACK-IN-A-BOX” FIELD TRANSCEIVER by THOMAS WITHERSPOON

A REVIEW OF THE XIEGU X5105 QRP “SHACK-IN-A-BOX” FIELD TRANSCEIVER by THOMAS WITHERSPOON

In my opinion, the Off Grid Trek 120 watt folding solar panel is a bridge between ultra portable panels like those from PowerFilm Solar, and the other less portable solar blankets from manufacturers like Renogy, Goal Zero, Jackery and of course the Chinese copy cats.

Although not as lightweight as PowerFilm Folding panels, the OGT120 is lighter than the closest competing models from Jackery, Renogy and Goal Zero.If you don't plan on hiking with it very far, this portable solar panel may very well find a home in your gear closet

INTRODUCING THE CHA POCKET ANTENNA SERIES - PRE ORDER

Hello Operators.

In this episode of OH8STN Ham Radio, we are having a looking at the portable ham radio amplifier from DIY599.com the PA500.

The PA500 is a 60 watt portable ham radio linear amplifier compatible with most QRP radios available today. The power amplifier has a built-in antenna tuner, auto band switching, auto band selection, and built-in low-pass filters. This ham radio review will make the case for a combining a QRP radio and amplifier, versus a QRO based portable ham radio station for the field. By Julian, OH8STN

There will be a part 2 of course at another location using upper bands, WSPR, maybe JS8 and one whip on the Hybrid-Micro. By Gil, The Radio Prepper
