We promote outdoor amateur radio operations and equip the new generation of mobile operators
The purpose of this weekly net is to foster the use of JS8CALL and WINLINK especially for outdoors and/or amateur radio portable/mobile scenarios.
It's a great way to enjoy outdoor portable operation while you travel and a great way to practice your EMCOMM Training
A set of guidelines designed to rapidly prepare candidates to become amateur radio operators, help them set up an ultra-portable amateur radio station kit, and train on a very specific skill set.
The main goal of this project is to create an international group of operators that are ready to respond to local or global incidents and help both themselves and their communities.
We'll be launching this section soon. Follow our progress on our Buy Me a Coffee site.
To get an early scoop on our projects, as well as to help influence the direction of our and amateur radio travel and emcomm training initiatives, we invite you to become part of our Buy Me a Coffee site. No donation needed, although highly appreciated.
This week marks the first time we're running the net *outdoor portable*. The video is audio-only, no commentary, no background music. We want to take you along the ride of setting up the station, and enjoy the outdoors.
In today's episode of Amateur Radio Outdoors, after a quick walk on the woods of Zurich, we experiment with our ultra portable 2M/70cm station, test our minimal every day carry (EDC) kit and review Chameleon Antenna's CHA DB VHF/UHF portable antenna.

In this short overview, we will be showing you how to receive weather charts, using your Raspberry Pi, FLDIGI and your HF radio.
Radiofacsimile, radiofax or HF fax is an analogue mode for transmitting monochrome images via high frequency (HF) radio waves. It was the predecessor to slow-scan television (SSTV). It was the primary method of sending photographs from remote sites (especially islands) from the 1930s to the early 1970s.
In this overview we will be receiving a live Weather Fax transmission from Northwood in the United Kingdom, while we explain how to configure FLDIGI to receive those images.

Welcome to our inaugural JS8CALL Sunday Net, starting every sunday at 17:00 UTC on 40M.
More information about our Net Protocols will be available on https:aro.travel. This video is a direct, no editing, recording of our live portion of the net.
We wish to extend our thanks to F4HVQ and G7LTQ for being our two inaugural check-ins for this net.
The goal of this net is to promote JS8CALL as an amateur radio communications platform and to expand the use of this network globally.
There are many interesting projects we will be using JS8CALL for and this net is just the first one of them. So, if you're into digital communications, and more specifically, outdoor operations please follow and subscribe. There are many surprises in store for you.
